Rocco's Retreat

Nice house, good ocean views, pool and elevator a plus. We love every minute of our week long vacations. Cape San Blas, FL has the best beaches in the Gulf of Mexico. No grocery stores, no fast food.

First, let me say this house is absolutely beautiful in regards to layout, modern upgrades, and design. There is plenty of space and the open concept is phenomenal. Beach access and private pool make it top notch. The not so good about this rental is the lack of certain things such as toilet paper, dish rags, extra blankets, family items (highchair), etc. We had no problem bringing extra paper towels, etc, but you will have to purchase extra toilet paper because only 1 roll is allotted per bathroom. It really should be based on occupancy and length of rental days. 10 people in 5 days go through more than 4 rolls of toilet paper. There are also no dish rags in the house so be prepared to wipe counters off with disinfectant wipes, paper towels, or 1 of the 2 hand towels left for you. There are also no baby friendly items such as a highchair or play yard. We always pack for things like this, so this is for other families need to know. Also, if you have small kids that will use the bunk beds be aware that the top bunk is very high and has fairly large open slats which terrified me with our kids and the possibility of them rolling off and out the the bunk. We put pillows around the top bunk to prevent anyone from falling out and we only allowed the older kids to sleep up top. The ladder to the top bunk also has narrow steps and is high, more than the traditional bunk bed. Lastly, the pool was quite dirty with sand when we arrived, but the rental company had a pool guy come on the 3rd day of our stay which helped and he deeply apologized about the pool condition. We have rented a lot of beach houses (1st time at Cape San Blas...normally go to St George Island) and this house is in the top 5, but for the nightly price commodities/accomodations could have been slightly better.

We had an amazing week! The home was immaculate, spacious, and efficient. The elevator came in useful as I had just broken my leg 2 weeks before vacation, and it was a life-saver! The pool was the BEST amenity as well as the ice machine! Love Rocco's Retreat!

We had a fantastic stay at Rocco's Retreat! We were 6 adults and 2 kids in total. The house was perfect size for everyone to have their own space. We spent most of our time outside but the kitchen/living room and screened porch were perfect for gathering. The house was clean and well decorated. Everyone loved having their own bathrooms. The pool area was super nice and perfect for young kids. Proximity to the beach was awesome and made for easy back and forth. The area is quiet which was nice a nice change as we normally go to Seacrest Beach on 30A but wanted to switch is up! We will definitely return.

Lovely house. Modern, clean and spacious. Had a wonderful time even though weather did not cooperate.

This home is beautifully decorated and ultra clean! It is spacious and is conducive to relaxing and socializing. Having the elevator was amazing - not having to carry everything up several flights of stairs was wonderful and much appreciated. I would definitely recommend this home for a stellar vacation.

This was the best beach trip the 8 of us have taken. No crowds on the beach and a wonderful house to come back to relax in.

Overall a great stay. House is well furnished, immaculate and overall we had a wonderful stay. The pool was wonderful and we really enjoyed everything. Only downside is that there was no keyless entry and you had to physically go the office to collect and return the key. Really should be an electronic process.

The process to check in and check out was a breeze.The home was clean and well stocked with cooking utensils. The porches had great views with comfy furniture. I highly recommend this home!

Our stay at Roccos retreat was wonderful.The views from the main floor and second floor were beautiful.
The kitchen was well stocked , and looked awesome. The grill worked well and was a welcome surprise. The TV sets in the main area, and bedrooms, were large. The parking area was large, and there were chairs and toys available downstairs. Overall one of the best houses we have stayed at in our many vacations to the cape, and would definitely rebook again.
Our only issues were the elevator not operating during our visit, and the door locks operating uniquely, the main water supply was turned off , which was a surprise , because the house was booked the week before us , but we found the turn on valve with the help of coastal joes emergency service . Thank you coastal Joes.
The local wildlife seems to be busy at night so tying down the trash can lids might be advisable. But the house is very nice and Mary and Scott at coastal joes were friendly and always there if we had a question.

The Coastal Joe staff was super helpful and polite. There was an issue that was beyond their control and they took great care of us very promptly. We would definitely use this agency again and very much prefer using them to dealing directly with an owner who doesn’t necessarily have the needed resources at his/her disposal as this agency did.

Found Rocco's Retreat and immediately began to communicate with Caitlin (and Mary) at Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals. Everyone there was great, responded quickly and answered all my questions as we initially were deciding between two homes to stay at. We decided on Rocco's Retreat and are so happy we did. The home is beachfront with a very short walk on it's private boardwalk to the actual beach. The four bed/four bath setup was perfect as we traveled with two sets of grandparents, two adults and two kids. The house was beautiful from the moment we walked in, clean/very well maintained and the view was perfect. The kitchen was amazing and stocked with everything you'd need. The room and bathrooms were all beautifully decorated as well. The pictures are exactly what you'll get. The elevator came in handy for the times we needed to bring luggage up and down at arrival and departure. The layout with one bedroom on the 1st floor and three others on the 2nd floor were comfortable too. The kids loved the bunkbeds. And having one deck screened in was great for sitting out there, especially in the evenings. We definitely plan on visiting Cape San Blas again, working with Coastal Joe's and staying at Rocco's Retreat. It's a quiet area, nothing like Destin or Panama City, so if you're looking for that sort of fun, with small towns nearby that you can hang, then this place is great. We didn't eat out much since we stayed on the beach most of the time, but Provisions restaurant in Port St Joe was great. We also rented a kayak and paddle board. Doing it again, we'd stick with just the kayak.

I wanted to get away for my birthday this year to somewhere warm and affordable. I was shocked when all 4 of my siblings agreed to join me, along with 2 spouses! Rocco's Retreat was perfect for the 7 of us with enough bedrooms, private bathrooms, an open kitchen and living room area where we could all gather, and a large screened in porch to enjoy the view. My old(est) brother especially appreciated the elevator to navigate the different floors.

This was my family's first vacation since COVID began a year ago and we couldn't have picked a better place. My family is very strict about COVID safety, so cleanliness, privacy, and the ability to have everything we needed without having to leave for supplies was at the top of our list when we began our search for a vacation rental, and this home far surpassed our expectations. The kitchen was well stocked allowing us to cook all of our meals with no hassle. We brought all of our groceries with us and had plenty of pantry and refrigerator space to store it. We practically had the beach to ourselves. No one was set up on the beach within a hundred yards on either side; just the occasional friendly person walking down the shore. Satellite TV, the giant kitchen table perfect for board games, and the private balconies to watch the peaceful waves was plenty to keep us occupied. If it's privacy, cleanliness, and safety you're looking for, this is the home for you. We will be back!

We finally decided to get away during covid, and Cap San Blas was the perfect location. Not crowded at all! Late October we practically had the beach to ourselves. The house was well equipped with everything we needed (except for a tea kettle, but not a deal breaker at all. The house is very nicely decorated and very comfortable furniture. The views for each deck are breathtaking. We will be back in the future when we can enjoy all of the local restaurants!
