Southern Comfort

This is our second stay is less than a month. We love the fact it’s pet free so, extremely clean. Also best sun set on CSB.

This was the 3rd year to stay here. House is Very nice but I was really disappointed to find the beautiful view off the back covered with shades that were not up to the quality of the house, We couldn't even get them to function correctly & stay up! The most disappointing thing in the house.

We love this place. First of all, pet free. I wish there were more of them. We have stayed here often and always very clean and updated. All the kitchen equipment needed without needing to bring anything. The veiw from front deck is incredibly with fabulous sunsets. Our Happy Place.

It was absolutely wonderful! We were looking for something on the beach but away from the noise and crowds that normally come with the beach, Southern Comfort was perfect. The house was immaculate and very comfortable, the view was incredible (best sunsets we have ever seen!), the beach was peaceful and relaxing and the community was welcoming. Just a couple of days in the trip we were already talking about when we could come back!

Wonderful location! The house had a well stocked kitchen and was a perfect setup for our family of 5. This was our first time to visit CSB and we had a wonderful week we couldn’t have asked for a better setup right on the beach!

The ocean being so close makes this house absolutely amazing! We sat on the porch and barely sat inside while we were here. No restaurant could beat our view for dinner. Sunsets were stunning! The house is set up nicely and roomier than the pictures look. My 4 year old son, husband and I can't wait to stay here again!

This was our fourth time staying at Southern Comfort with our friends of over 40 years. We love this beautiful home. It is always clean and well maintained and the perfect size for us. Coastal Joe’s is a wonderful company to work with. We have already booked our next two trips to this home.

This lovely home is a perfect vacation! Location is perfect for a quiet beach front experience. Close enough to eat out daily yet NOT in a crowded area. Home in great condition and we had no problems with anything. Very pleased with cleanliness and furnishings were like new. Would recommend owners put in stairs over the dunes for ease in getting to beach with chairs, etc. but o/w our stay was excellent. Hope to come back next year!

Southern Comfort is a wonderful place to spend some beach time! I loved it and look forward to returning next year. Great owner and rental staff! It's so nice to have such a quality experience! !

We have been coming to Cape San Blas for over 20 years. Found several homes we enjoyed but, just not the one until now. This is the perfect.place for couples. Only two bedroom and no location we have stayed paid as much attention to details. This home was beautifully decorated and the best equipped home we’ve ever stayed. This is our first day that I can honestly say we found nothing wrong or lacking. We have a mediately scheduled our fall visit at Southern comfort..

Very clean and modern house right on the beach. The sunset is an experience that can’t be missed. The house was clean and well equipped, and Coastal Jose was easy to work with.

My husband and I loved being able to stay in a smaller home all on one level. The house was beautiful and well stocked. The furniture and beds were comfortable. The table and chairs on the deck are in need of replacing, but all the other outside furniture was great. The other reviews mentioned the difficulty of walking over the dune. The sand was deep, and I recently had a total knee replacement so it was difficult for me as well. I think a rubber mat, like I’ve seen at other homes would be a perfect solution. I know stairs are periodically washed away.
We loved our stay so much that we were going to go ahead and book the same week in October next year. Unfortunately, we realized that the rate doubled for next year. It seems that a lot of homes on the Cape have followed this protocol in the past year. Sadly, they have become higher then Seaside and other communities along 30A. I could understand a reasonable increase but to double is rather ludicrous and a extreme disappointment.

We enjoyed this rental. Very pretty decor. Loved that it was so close to beach!! Just a few inconvenience , one of shower doors off. Broken by last guest! People be careful. Need to replace outdoor table and chairs but new people just bought it so sure they’ll take care of that. Overall , I would recommend this rental! Great views from the place!!

Beautiful remodel! Original house was very nice, so we were glad to see the improvement. Sad to see so much Beach gone in this area. Wish it was in our “comfort zone” price wise for next year. Two steep for two people. Coastal Hie continues to be a great rental agency.

Great! House was better than expected!!! Already booked it for next year

Couldn’t be more pleased with the changes and remodel of SCZ. We have stayed at this location numerous times but this was the first since the hurricane and remodel. The house itself is perfect for small families or 2 couples. The view is second to none and the porch offers covered and open areas for enjoyment all day. There is not a boardwalk yet and the beach has been severely eroded from the hurricane but we still had plenty of room to setup our canopy and chairs. However, the houses south of this location have limited or no beach past their boardwalk. I hope there are plans for beach restoration. The only negative for our visit was that the house was sold while we were there. The closing happened on our last day and utilities were being switched over and had an internet installer at our house for a few hours while we were trying fix dinner. Also it caused us to miss time on the beach on our last evening. Just wish these things could have been scheduled better.

This house has the best beach access you could wish for. Beautiful setting for sunset dinner. Very clean, no complaints!

I've stayed in many rentals on many beaches, but this one--Southern Comfort Zone--on Cape San Blas was absolutely perfect! A little on the expensive side, but for a couple of day splurge, SO WORTH IT!
When the tide is high and you are sitting on the porch, it feels as though you are literally hovering over the water.
Lovely shows by the magnificent sea and some of its creatures!

WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY THIS TIME AROUND. THE ONLY THING TO SAY NEGATIVE ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE WAS THE AMOUNT OF TICKS THIS TIME OF YEAR WHILE HIKING. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS PERFECT.

The Southern Comfort was a beautiful beach home that met every expectation we had. It was clean, spacious and offered everything we were looking for. The staff at Coastal Joe's could not have been nicer. We'll be back for sure!

A great break from summer heat, Covid worries, and crowds. We had a delightful 5 day rest, and we'd recommend this place enthusiastically.

We have stayed in various properties thru out the years, and in various locations but this was by far the most beautiful. Loved how close it was to the water and also being able to see the ocean from all directions while inside the home. The home truly does have everything you need. We sure hated to leave and are already planning to book it again for our next vacation. Another thing that we truly loved was that it’s pretty secluded something that we were hoping for, but yet close enough to Port St Joe if you want to venture out for dinner.

Lovely, comfortable and spacious home. So close to the ocean, and views of the ocean from all rooms but the bathroom. This rental home was definitely the closest to the ocean, I've ever stayed in the 20 some odd rentals in which our family has rented at the Cape.

Thank you to Coastal Joe Vacation for making sure our vacation happened. The original house we booked had A last minute issue and became unavailable a week before we were set to arrive. Mary B at Coastal Joes work hard to find a replacement house for us. The owners of southern comfort zone we’re at the home and agreed to leave for us to come. I can’t say thank you enough for your hospitality. Our vacation was amazing! The house was perfect!! Everything had been newly renovated and was up to date! I would recommend this place to anyone!! Best vacation ever!!!!

The house and the location can’t be beat. Walking out and being directly on the sand/beach is a true BEACH vacation! The owners did an amazing job renovating, they really paid attention to every detail. All necessities were nicely stocked. We drove 11 hours from NC to stay at this particular house, and we hope to be back in the near future!

Southern Comfort is the best beach house we have ever stayed in! Loved the layout and decor of the home and it has a view like no other! When you sit on the deck, it’s like you’re down on the beach! Our family had the most wonderful week and can’t wait to come back and next time it will be for a longer stay!

We stayed at Southern Comfort Zone immediately before Hurricane Michael hit. The house was comfortable and cozy. We absolutely loved the location and proximity to the beach. The only complaint we would have is not related to the house or rental company.... #1 Kill from the Red tide was left to rot on the beach. :( So that is on Cape San Blas... #2 Some construction or pipe work was happening (almost) directly in front of the house. We hope to return to this house and Cape San Blas in the future. It is a great area.

Home is very nice and close to the beach. Everyone we met while on vacation was pleasant. 100% will be back.

Cozy older beach house right on the white Gulf beach. Our third year staying there!

Over the years our family has stayed at locations on the Gulf from Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Pensacola, Perdio Key, Destin, Navarre, and Fort Walton. However none can compare to Cape San Blas and our experience at Southern Comfort Zone. The peacefulness and slow paced environment allows us to rest and relax without the push and shove that we experienced at other beach vacation destinations. We've been coming to this location for about 5 years now and have no plans in stopping. It's a long drive from Arkansas but for us it's worth it. If you're looking for a no frills nice house right on the beach then this is the place for you. I do wish the master bedroom had a view of the ocean and a balcony. However, having an open floor plan for the living and dining area with a full deck with windows all along the back is very nice.

The bed was too soft TV in living room did not work floors were dirty sand under all the rugs ac had to be repaired

This home is fabulous! The interior has all the upgrades you could wish for. The Kitchen was nicely stocked, we had everything we needed and more. The living area is spacious. The home is along a nice quiet stretch of beach since there is only a single tier of homes at this point on the cape.

The house was great!! Great location - right on the beach!! Who could ask for more? Loved that the house was cozy and small but not too small. Just right. Spacious but not huge which is what we wanted. We usually have to rent something huge and finally we fin a place that's just right. Want to rent again soon!! Loved the comfort, the decor, location - just everything!! Thank You for this awesome place!!!

Now the bad, the rental advertised home new in 2016 and that is what we expected. this home was built in the 80's and it showed, old cabinets, hardwood floors buckling, loose towel racks, loose shower curtain rods, refrigerator was not cold but freezer worked needs replaced. very difficult to access beach on boardwalk, covered in deep sand not safe. would not recommend this house

We were late in reserving a house this year. I was a little worried when this house was available so late in the season. Do not be worried! The house is wonderful. The beach is right there, like 20' from the deck. Since the house sits closer to the beach than the neighbors, you can't see the others from the deck. The screened porch on the side of the house was great. Easy to nap/sleep while listening to the surf. Many of the finishes and furniture have been updated. It's not opulent or elegant, just comfortable. The bathrooms are both off the bedrooms so that's a little different. It was just me and the Mrs., so no issues. The kitchen is VERY well stocked. It's all glass toward the beach so the view inside is awesome as well. There is parkng under the house which was great. Below the house is all concrete so its very clean and make a great space for prepping our bikes. It is a tight turn to park under the house, not sure a Suburban could get in there. We were there in late July, (2017). There has been some beach erosion, but we had plenty of beach in front of the house. A few reports on the Trip Advisor forums made it sound like there wasn't any beach.....not true. Overall, this is a great house for a couple(s) or a small family. Thanks for a wonderful week!

We have been coming to the Cape for 30 years and love the old feeling of Southern Comfort Zone. The bathrooms and Kitchen are old but clean. Love the large great room and cozy screened porch. Ditch the rugs in the great room- the sand underneath them is plentiful! Beach is lovely in front of the joyousness. Have rented for three years now.

Southern Comfort Zone is so close to the beach that you feel like your toes are in the sand while sitting on the deck. I loved the open floor plan and that each bedroom had its own bath. Out family really enjoyed the big living room at night. Outdoor shower was a nice addition to ending your day on the beach. Would definitely rent again from Coastal Joe and plan to spend many more vacations at Cape San Blas..

We were a party of six, with two couples each with a toddler. The home was a perfect setup for us with each toddler sleeping in a pack-and-play. Although this home does have a pull-out sofa, the bathrooms are only accessible through each bedroom so that could prove difficult. I would recommend this home for two couples, one family, or a group such as ours with small children.

The kitchen was very well stocked for a rental offering endless pots and pans, cookware, baking items, utensils, etc. Very rare for a rental but appreciated. No keurig though so buy old-fashioned coffee and filters. The living area also had a good selection of books and board games along with satellite TV. A welcome plus during Tropical Storm Cindy.

The parking/garage area was very spacious for our full size truck, car, and a two-kayak trailer. Again, the convenience of parking under the home and walking directly to the beach is the best part in my opinion. Also had a great outdoor shower and hose for cleaning kiddos and fishing gear.

The rental company was fantastic to work with. Answered phone calls and emails timely. I wouldn't hesitate to rent from them again and would rent this home again if our traveling party were small.

This house met our needs. We wanted a relaxing vacation for our family of four and that was exactly what we got. We had a couple small issues - grill stated to be gas but was charcoal. ( Solved with a trip to the general store for charcoal). Internet did not work for first couple days and required a visit from the provider to fix but we did not need it for anything important.

It was fantastic we hope we can rent it again . Everybody was so helpful and sincere The house was right onn the beach and the fishing was good can I come back ! can we come back. please

Coastal Joe was easy to work with and pleassant. "Southern Comfort Zone" is in a great location, perched out in front of the other nearby homes giving it a 180 degree view of the gulf! It is well maintained, with what looked to be recent improvements, and made for a wonderful visit!
