Glo's Getaway

I was disappointed that this gem of a home had not been maintained. The king beds were terrible. The house needs a deep cleaning and some maintenance. Lots of black dog hair which is hard to keep up with and I know bc I had a black lab. The dunes have been washed away so I hope the county can address this before it is turtle season.

We had a great first visit to Cape San Blas! Very relaxing and peaceful place. Very different from our usual crowded beach vacation. We stayed at Glo’s. Beautifully decorated and most of the house was ver comfortable. Being steps away from the beach. Sunsets were beautiful! The only complaint I have is that the bed in the master bedroom needs a new mattress! I had to sleep in the bunk bed room. My husband slept in the middle of the bed in the master bedroom ok. We loved our time there. I would come back to Glo’s if the master bed is replaced.

This house was spotless upon our arrival and we couldn't have asked for a better location. The property management team were very helpful and delightful. We'll definitely be coming back here again!

Everything was fantastic. Exactly what was pictured and described. Would definitely stay again.

What a wonderful stay! The house was fantastic. Right on the beach and just foot steps from the beach. Service was amazing!

The location and layout of this house can't be beat! We love that the beach was at the doorstep and the outdoor porches were awesome!

We were a party of 8 (4 kids and 4 parents). Everyone was comfortable. The kids loved the bunk room and the parents were happy to have king beds and plenty of space.

We had a great time, really like Glo's Getaway.

This was our first trip to Cape San Blas. The house was big enough for everyone. Best part was the location. A few steps and your on the beach.

We stayed at Glo’s for a week in April. The best things about the house were the porches, with amazing views over the water and the screened porch upstairs, and the easy staircase straight down to the sand. My two little kids could play in the sand at the bottom of the staircase while my husband and I drank coffee on the porch — perfection! It was great to be a short walk from the Tradin’ Post and Weber’s Donuts, too. This house is a little less “homey” than some but it was a clean, convenient, lovely place. Coastal Joe was great to work with, as always. Can’t wait to come back to the Cape.

Two 60 year old women getting away from everything at the pseudo remote beach. This house is very nice. The third bedroom has bunkbeds which are for a family and if there were additional adults with us this would not have been a good bed for them. The kitchen is well stocked. The TVs are functioning but we are not real savvy with apps. The chairs are the deck are wonderful. The location of the home is unmatched. We are both a couple of clean freaks and we tried to keep up with the sand. Hopefully there will be a decent broom for the next folks.

I loved everything about this trip. Cape San Blas is perfect. Lots of beach, not too much traffic or over development but enough to where you can find everything you need without leaving the Cape. Glo’s has been largely remodeled, the current pics on the website do not reflect the new changes. It has new flooring, furniture, a new kitchen, decking has been redone. The remodel is gorgeous and was a pleasant surprise when I first walked in. The location is great, there’s a nice fresh fish shop, a grocery that has most of what you might need as well a kitchen that serves pizza, burgers etc and there’s also a ice cream/donut shop that are only take a few minutes to walk to from the house. The bait and tackle shop is a little further but still very close and the people working there went above and beyond to help me get setup. The VayK beach gear rental service was very convenient, they’ll drop the gear at the house the day of your arrival, you leave it where you found it when you leave and they’ll come pick it up. There is a gas station on the Cape with reasonable prices. I can’t find anything bad to say about Glo’s or this trip, I loved every minute of it and hated to leave. I’ll try to post some pics of the remodel if I can, if not take my word for it you will not be disappointed. Not mentioned in the website, Glo’s does have a washer and dryer upstairs, they do not provide any beach gear so you’ll need to bring your own or rent from VayK.

We rent a house every fall from Costal Joe. They are super easy to work with.
They answer the phone when we call. That may seem like a small thing but it’s a something not many companies do anymore.
Last year we lost our key while on a shopping day off the cape and they got us back in our house after 10:00 pm. That is great service.
We have rented from others before but didn’t get the service we do with Costal Joe.

We have stayed at 2 other houses with two other companies on the Cape and this home was by far the cleanest. It also had the best location to the beach. We loved our stay and had zero complaints about the house. It was great!

Our group of 5 adults enjoyed our stay at this comfortable home on the beach. The location was ideal, with the Trading Post in easy walking distance. The kitchen was well supplied with dishware and cookware, which we appreciated as we did a lot of cooking. We enjoyed the shrimp boil at Skully's, and the fish at a newly opened restaurant near the end of the Cape. We made a few trips to Port St. Joe and Appalachicola for groceries and restaurants. We called management once about some minor issues, which were remedied the same day. Unfortunately, we were not aware that dune restoration would be underway, and the noisy equipment marred our enjoyment. There were 2 days that our beach was completely unusable due to the work of the dump trucks and bulldozer. We were also disappointed to see several cockroaches, which we reported but did not want treated while we were there. Overall, we enjoyed the quiet beachfront location and had a delightful vacation.

Our family of 5 adults = 3 generations enjoyed being part of the Gulf of Mexico from inside house, on decks or at beach! Spectacular location for nature lovers to enjoy Sangria Sunsets lovely comfortable home.

We had a great time ! The house was close to the beach which was awesome! The house is nicely decorated and pretty but needs quite a few updates to areas. Things that are easily fixed! I left a list with Coastal Joe. We would consider staying again for sure if some things fixed! Staff at Coastal Joes was very helpful and great to work with!

Loved the house and location but the renters that paid the cleaning fee before us and before them, etc, got ripped off. House layout was great, very convenient to the beach and spectacular views. Granted we wipe down every rental we go into but this house was not cleaned very well. Still sand on the floor and in the carpet. My wife swept dust bowls, trash, old food from under furniture and dont even look behind the TV. Kitchen drawers had food and splatters in it. My daughters feet were dirty from walking across the floor. If the cleaning service had cleaned the showers properly they should have reported the drain backups, which property management did take care of. The property does need some minor maintenance but nothing that took away from the vacation. Also dont pre order or deliver food. The fridge took over a day to get to a cooling temp; we had to toss some food out of concern. Windows also had hand and face prints on it. The rental process went well and communication was good. My issue is the cleanliness. This property would be rated 4+ if clean but deducting due to cleanliness. I would like to stay here again but need confidence in cleanliness. I marking I would refer to a friend ONLY if it was cleaned.

This was mine and Pattie's 2nd time to stay at Sangria Sunset. We were there last July also. All repairs have been done to the house and it looks AWESOME, the beach has been restored and it is also AWESOME. The entire staff at Coastal Joe's are the best, they are very helpful and will go up and beyond in making sure your stay there is a Great experience as it was for us. It was hard leaving Saturday morning and cant wait till we are back again there at Sangria Sunset. BTW, the home is well stocked and it was very clean and neat when we checked in. Everything you will need is in the kitchen. Be prepared to have a great vacation there , we did. See y'all next year.

The beach location was great! There were a few issues with the house though. The tub in the master bath was stopped up and we had to use a whole bottle of Draino to get it to drain. The place overall could have been a little cleaner. When the top sheet on one of the bottom bunk beds was pulled back there was sand all over the sheets. There was what looked like a small pile of sand on one of the steps going up to the bedrooms and an empty beer can on the porch.

We very much enjoyed Sangria Sunset! It was right in the beach and the views from both decks is excellent. The furnishings are very comfortable especially the mattresses and sofas. The supplied kitchen equipment like knives, pots and pans and bakeware need an upgrade but I believe the owner is working on this. We would definitely stay there again!

We rented in Sangria Sunsets for 5 weeks. We have stayed in this house for many years. My family loves it. We rented a larger house several years ago but the family wanted to go back to this house. It is right on the beach and feels like you 2nd home. We even stayed during repair construction this year.
We so appreciate the owner of this home and Coastal Joe Rentals. They are so easy to work with. We hope to be there many more years.

This was my 20th season coming down to the Cape. Pattie has been coming with me for the last ten. I am a native Floridan living in Northern Alabama. Staying at Sangria Sunsets was more than we expected since not knowing what it may be like since the storm. We loved it and it was so hard to leave that Sunday morning.

Our 16th year at Cape San Blas and at least 10 years or more at this home. We were overwhelmed by the hurricane damage and to this home. Outside was a mess but inside was fine with the exception of a very hot twin bedroom due to window. We did ask for a big fan or styrofoam to cover the windwow but didn't happen. The grown grandkids slept on the sofas in the living room due to the extreme heat and we kept that door closed. I realize this was not the norm. Hope to see much improvement on the peninsula next year. We did have a fun time!!

Overall, we had a great week. The Cape is still recovering from Hurricane Michael that struck in October 2018. Sangria Sunsets has some minor, mostly cosmetic damage that didn’t have much of an affect on our vacation. The interior was clean and we’ll equipped. Views of the sunsets from the deck are amazing. The ground floor entrance with a 1/2 bath is a nice touch as is the 1/2 bath on the main floor where the kitchen & living area is. There was plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 grandsons. A couple of minor issues that we experienced during our stay was handled swiftly. The kitchen was well stocked & the beds were comfortable. Coastal Joe communicated great with us and even helped with beach gear rentals. Sangria Sunsets is in a perfect location just steps from the surf with an unobstructed view of the Gulf. It’s also walking distance to the Cape Trading Post who has everything you may need during your stay. Evening walks to the Trading Post for ice cream are a family tradition for us. Our family had a great week!

We discovered Cape San Blas about 8 years ago. We have vacationed there since then. Our favorite house is Sangria Sunsets (formerly Mellow Yellow). We have booked it again for 2018. The staff at Costal Joes Vacation are the best. They were very helpful and so easy to work with. The house is gulf front and has wonderful views of the gulf. Sunsets are beautiful. It has become our home away from home. Cant wait to return next year.

The location is great - can't go wrong with beachfront location. However, the place is showing its wear and needs to have some work done. This year was our 3rd stay at Mellow Yellow and our first time renting with Costal Joe. We were there for a month and loved it. The house is very comfortable and the beach was great. The people at Costal Joe's were so friendly and helpful. We have booked it for next year. This was our sixth year on Cape SAN Blas and it feels like a second home.

WE have been vacationing at the Cape for about 15 years and Mellow Yellow is our favorite place to stay. All the upgrades are excellent and has improved the visit. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and was nice to have the gas grill. Thanks to the owner!! Only to things to pass on: the fan in the queen room needs repair-was shaky and only worked on high. The other thing is to request throw rugs have the material under them that keeps them from sliding. Several times of almost falls due to slipping. These are minor compared to how excellent the house is for a wonderful experience.

Mellow Yellow's location directly on the beach made our family's vacation a complete joy! The house provided us with all that we needed for comfort and privacy! The location was convenient to the general store and restaurants in Cape San Blas area. Other restaurants were 20 to 30 minutes away in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola. The house is nicely maintained. A great getaway, a pleasant stay!

This house was more than we could have asked for and we plan on coming back as a family for our vacation every year from now on!!!

It was the MOST relaxing, peaceful, enjoyable vacation I've ever had at the beach. The Mellow Yellow unit was gorgeous...clean, clean, clean...you'd never know it is pet friendly. Perfect view of the beach & sunsets from every room and decks!!??????????. Definitely be back!

Once again Costal Joe got us in Mellow Yellow on short notice and we had a great time. The property is even better than last year with several room re-dos. This is a terrific renal home in a great location. Caitlin (at Costal Joe's) got us in the same day we we called and also took care of a coffee pot malfunction. Thank you Caitlin and Costal Joe for a great last minute vacation.

Spent the week here with my family and my sisters family. We had a great week and since we had 9 people we had plenty of room. View was great from the top deck and we loved how easy it was to access the beach. Would be nice if they trimmed the palm tree near the outside shower. Almost took my eye out with one of the branches. Also the grill was not in the best working condition- might want to upgrade it. Super close to the Trading Post which was awesome. In the description it says bikes would be at your disposal but we saw no bikes anywhere?? Really enjoyed the trip and the house was great! Went to Port St Joe and ate at Peppers- recommend it if you are craving Mexican food. ??

Location was Perfect! House was just a few steps from the beach; beautiful views, ample space....

House could have been cleaner - obvious a dog had been in the house; door facing was chewed; pet hair all over carpeted stairs...

Grill on deck did not work...did receive a refund for filling the propane tank...

Tree in front of house needs desperately to be cut - completely blocks the beautiful view from the dining room...

We had a wonderful time at the mellow yellow. We are a family of 7 with 5 kids from 18 to 19months old. The beach house was very nice. It's better than the pictures show. It's about a 50 ft walk to the beach. We had a great vacation and made some wonderful memories.

THis house is perfect for a 4-5 family group. It is oceanfront with wonderful views. It was recently upgraded to have new granite in the kitchen, new living room rug, and new dining table and chairs. The TV is large and connects to the internet. Fishing is excellent; lots of fun activities on the beach or at St. Joe Park. Best places to eat: Joe Momma's Pizza in ST. Joe, Boss Oysters and Up the Creek in Apalachicola.We have been coming to Cape San Blas for about 12 years and always enjoy the area.

We visited the Cape with our kids and another couple and their two kids. We loved the location and the layout of the house. Both of the main bedrooms looked out to the ocean as did the living room and kitchen. We saw dolphins at least every day and could even see them from inside while we made lunch. Coastal Joe's staff was extremely professional and the property was very clean and well stocked. We discovered a broken piece of wood on the porch and they were out to fix it within a half hour. We also had a few hours without power due to a power company equipment issue and the Coastal Joe staff addressed things immediately and came out right away with keys to another property if we needed it. If it were my home the only things I'd change would be to cut back the large palm off the back porch to open up the view, and I'd screen in some portion of the deck to be able to enjoy time outside on buggy nights. Mellow Yellow is just a short walk from the Trading Post which made it easy to pick up groceries, Weber's donuts, and pop over for an evening ice cream. During our stay we spent a lot of time on the beach and in the water. We also had a really fun time on Seahorse Water Safari's snorkeling trip. I would definitely recommend Coastal Joe and Mellow Yellow to others and would love to stay here again.

Had a very good stay at mellow yellow after we received a new mattRESS and box springs the manager Scott was asap taking care of this matter.The kitchen was spacious and had just about everything you needed to have.If I owned the place I would trim that palm tree on front porch so when you are sitting you can see the gulf of MEXICO.A great place for a family gathering.

Perfect vacation spot for 1-2 small families. My wife, three kids five and under spent always here in October 2014 and have a blast. Plenty of room, perfect axis to the beach and clean house paid for a fun week of beach time. Love the location, safe beach and clean house. We parked our car and didn't leave the house for a week. You need groceries and don't forget to pick up fish from the local fishmarket on your way in. Will definitely return!

Cape San blas is our favorite beach destination!

Wonderful time at Mellow Yellow. Coastal Joe was terrific in getting us in Mellow Yellow the same day we arrived. This middle part of Cape San Blas is the best area of the beach in our opinion. Love the decorations in the house. TV's could be a little bigger for those days when you've had too much sun, but the furnishings and layout are great.

Mellow Yellow was a beautiful property. The beds were very comfortable. It had plenty of seating which was wonderful for our family dinners. The gulf front view was amazing! We loved sitting out on the decks and watching the ocean and the dolphins. The beach is just a few steps away on the private boardwalk. The home is just a short walk to the Trading Post. We enjoyed walking there to get ice cream in the evenings and fresh donuts in the mornings. Overall the home was just perfect. We enjoyed everything about our stay. We would definitely rent this home again.
