Only problem was the lack of hot water for at least four, maybe more, days and nights, despite one unsuccessful repair... Less important, lack of any frying equipment... Otherwise, very fine and would certainly recommend to others.
Sea Splash A was very nice. Fabulous location on the beach. Our only complaints are minor ones - a sliding screen door that kept coming off the track, the DVD player missing the necessary cable to be able to use it, and the water heater going off and having to be reset. The house itself was clean and great. We will be back to Cape San Blas and the only reason we might not be back to Sea Splash A is because we want to share this great vacation spot with more family so we might need a bigger house!
We didn't make a reservation prior to arriving. Instead, we looked at several houses & condos once we arrived. we were very disappointed in what we saw, but when we saw Sea Splash A, it was the best value we had seen. Clean, cute and very convenient. Better priced than many others, too. I was very pleased!
property was great place to stay...but there is trash on the property, and they are missing small things-like a decent broom for the sand, and a cookie sheet for those raining days bakers! We plan on staying there again-even if I have to bring my on broom!
We love this beach and the condo was just right for us. We hope to come back. The fridge needs to be cleaned - red, sticky juice inside and grime on the door around the handle areas. Upstairs shower/tub was not clean - dirt ring, dirt on the edge where someone put feet when shaving, leftover soap from previous renters left in tub. There is also trash on the property - cans, cups, chip bags, etc. that the real estate folks didn't seemed worried about - blamed it on the empty unit next door.
We strive to have the best cleaning crews and inspect each home in a manner that ensures each home is in the best condition possible. That being said, we are not perfect and we never want anyone to stay in a home they feel is not up to their standards. Please call our office upon arrival if you have any such problems. We will do our best to rectify the issue as soon as we can.
overall a very pleasant experience. the ceiling fans in the dining area would not work - it would have been nice is they did.
overall quite a good location and value...that said the kitchen could be better equipped(pots, knives) but still good...we had a problem with the master tiolet that was resolved in 3 days with a replacement...otherwise an overall great wxperience and we will definately rent this place again!!!
We loved our stay at Sea Splash A. The unit was very clean and met all of our needs. The unit next to Sea Splash A was a bit of an eye sore, but it didn't affect our stay. We had a blast at Cape San Blas!
The location was great - very relaxing. Everything was perfect except one day the cable guys came for about 4 hours and we had no TV or internet and we didn't want to be on the beach with them in the house. Other than that, great time!
This property is in a bit of disrepair and could be MUCH cleaner. The location is great, though. The unit this one is connected to is vacant and literally falling apart and is not pretty to look at (siding ripped off, flapping in the breeze). We did, however, enjoy our stay. How could we not enjoy a week at the beach with the dog? Overall, we were sad to leave.
The owners have been in the home all winter and have done many repairs, and deep cleans needed to get it ready for the busy Spring and Summer season. As stated in an earlier response, the unit next door has been repaired and should not be an eye sore any longer.
We have rented often and this is the first place that did not supply a start up kit (dish soap, paper towels, general cleaning supplies, etc). There were not any dish cloths and only one dish towel. There was no broom to sweep up sand and puppy hair during the week - we had to go buy one. The condition of the other unit is so bad it detracts from the overall appearance of the building. Our unit was very clean - it was nice to have all the beds made and ready to use. Not all rentals do that - often we have to make up the beds when we arrive.LOVED how close we were to the beach.Numbered access locks would be nice - wouldn't have to stop and pick up/drop off keys.
If items are missing from the home upon arrival please call our office and let us know. We are very clear in our Pre Arrival packet what we do and do not provide. The duplex next to Sea Splash A was bought by some new owners and they have done a wonderful job fixing the place up and will soon be renting it out as well.
Very helpful staff, reservation process went smoothly.
This was the perfect vacation spot to do absolutely nothing! with the view, the beach, the water..and a few tropical drinks...we couldn't have had a more relaxing stay. There are plenty of things to do if you so choose...playing in the bay area, lighthouse tours, state park...but we were completely content walking off the deck and right onto the beach.
We loved Sea Splash A and have no complaints about the unit itself. However, and we mentioned this to you in person while we were there, the unit adjoining Sea Splash A was in terrible condition and an eye sore for us as we came out of the front door or sat on either of our decks, or walked in front of our side of the house. We understand that Coastal Joe has little or no control over the "B" unit as it is in foreclosure and not owned by the same people as the "A" unit. It would be hard to reccomend to acquaintances to stay in Sea Splash A until the rubbish and garbage are cleaned up. It was obvious that someone had been staying there, but it looked like they were homeless people or bums from the view we could see through the curtainless windows and the debris that surrounded not just "B" unit, but stuff that had been thrown or blown onto the "A" unit side.We understand your position in all this, but we also had concerns that whoever these people were who occasionally inhabited "B" unit would reappear and move back in. From the looks of the place, we would have been very uncomfortable having them as neighbors.Otherwise, Sea Splash A was delightful. We weren't real crazy about the huge black piping that sat on the beach nor the constant noise (all night long) of the bull dozers moving sand around, but we appreciate the effort of the beach reclamation and understand that this must happen and will make the beaches better and more environmentally sustainable for the future. All of you at Coastal Joe could not have been nicer or more helpful during our stay and good information prior to our coming down to Cape San Blas.
My husband & I had a great time. First vacation with our little dog, Truman. He loved smelling all the new smells on the beach (but didn't like the sand burrs!) Several things were beyond your control and were a bit bothersome...construction noise on one side and down the beach Caterpillars running day & night to shore up the disappearing sand (Hurricane-induced waves on Wed & Thur voided a third of their efforts) and lastly some young people at the other half of the property that left their trash, clothing etc. laying all around the outside of the building. Seeing the huge waves on Thursday was quite a site and confirms that I never want to experience a hurricane. All in all, we had a very relaxing time and will return to Cape San Blas. I hope it can keep it's laid-back atmosphere...we were very disappointed to see how Mexico Beach has changed since our last vacation 4 years ago. NO MULTIPLE HIGH-RISE CONDOS, PLEASE !!!
The view was perfect! For the most part, we felt like we had the beach to ourselves...very relaxing and non-"touristy". The gulf coast breeze kept us comfortable from the hot sun. Just wish we could've found a grocery store a little closer than 20 min. away. However, the gas station less than 5 min. away was pretty conveinent with drinks, some food, snacks, gifts/clothing and every day needs. The people were very friendly and felt like we were part of the community! We had a great time and would definitley visit again.
We will be back. Thanks
We had a very good week. Yhe construction crew next door was also very considerate.
This small duplex was just perfect for our family and we were right on the beach - we had fun watching the dolphins everyday from the two decks facing the gulf. Once again we were reminded that paying a few more dollars to be right on the water is well worth it.We had one question for the owners and Coastal Joe's got us the answer in a matter of minutes - renting through them was a painless experience.
just FYI- tell all the guests with dogs to be careful around a guy who lives on Aruba Dr #160! He is really unfriendly person and hates all the "rental people" with dogs!!!!
Enjoyed our stay in absolute beachfront townhouse and watched dolphins frolicking close to shore and slept peacefully each night with accompaniment of surf lapping shore! Absolute paradise.
Escape from a hard Michigan winter to a beachfront cottage is the best way to recharge one's batteries and spirit. The location directly on the beach gave a front-row seat for great sunsets.
This is a great house, and a great location. I just have one complaint. It has a boardwalk that several other houses use for access to the beach, so it's not very private. But it was a great place for the kids. Oh yeah, one other thing... the washer & dryer were in a storage room on the bottom level in which you can only access it from going outside. And the washer leaked a little. But, all in all, it's a great house.
