Beach Happy

Beach Happy is a great place to stay. Rental was very clean & the kitchen well equipped with many pots, pans, Tupperware, etc. The location is my favorite part about the rental. Conveniently located to many things and a very short walk to the beach & pool. We rode bikes to the state park, Cone Heads, and to the trading post several times. Coastal Joe was easy to work with although the rental was still being cleaned when we arrived at 4:30pm. Thankfully we were able to hang out at the pool until it was available, though after driving all day, it would have been nice to have the rental ready especially considering checkout is at 10am. I think it is important for future renters to know there are 4 flights of stairs and the step tread is narrow. We are a young family, so this was fine for us, but I think helpful to know in a review because you cannot tell in the description and that may be difficult for some. The home has an elevator, would be helpful to have that available for renters, I've stayed in many rental homes with elevators that can be used.

We booked Beach Happy through Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals and stayed for 3 weeks in February/March…overall the condo was comfortable and offered great gulf views from all 3 level decks/porches. It was well furnished (although we were not fans of all the glass tables and wicker furniture) and had some nice improvements including most of the flooring, windows/doors, countertops, tubs/showers, and appliances. The condo appeared clean, but the floors could have used some more attention. The complex offers a very nice boardwalk/ramp over the dunes making beach access very easy. The boardwalk also has a deck with benches, perfect for sunset viewing!The biggest negative to this condo is the stairs - they are steep and the treads are not real deep. It was very difficult for us to get our personal belongings and groceries unloaded and up the stairs when we arrived. We would have appreciated the use of the elevator very much! The beds were comfortable and had memory foam toppers on them, but the linens provided were well worn and our comforter needed washing. We had a couple of maintenance issues when we first arrived, but Coastal Joe responded and resolved them quickly. The pool was closed for maintenance when we arrived and we learned it had been for several weeks. Since we had booked last minute, we were disappointed that Coastal Joe did not share that information with us at the time of booking. Once it re-opened, it was clean and beautiful and well maintained. One more thing to note is that there are new units being built at Sea Cliffs right across the pool/green space from Beach Happy so there was a lot of construction noise most days while we were there.
